irlek keeps your personal data on your device. The app has no accounts, no servers, and no interest in what you think or decide. Your tasks, focus sessions, decisions, and reflections never leave your iPhone.

Who we are

irlek is a personal project based in the Netherlands. You can reach us at info@irlek.com.

What stays on your device

Everything you do in the app stays on your phone:

Your tasks and their order
Your focus sessions and intentions
Your decisions and scores
Your reflections and notes
Your usage preferences

This data is stored locally using SQLite on your device. irlek never sees it and cannot access it.

What the website collects

irlek.com does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not use any analytics or tracking services. There is no contact form that stores your data on this site. If you contact us by email, your message is handled via our email provider and deleted after your question is resolved.

Anonymous usage analytics

The app can collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how irlek is used and improve it over time. This is entirely opt-in — you are asked for consent when you first open the app, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings.

If you consent, the following is collected:

Usage events (what you do in the app):

App launches
Focus sessions started, completed, or stopped early
Decide sessions started
Paywall views and outcomes (shown, dismissed, or converted)
Whether you are on the free or Pro plan

Device and app information (sent automatically with every event):

iPhone model and iOS version
App version and build number
Device language, region, and time zone
Screen resolution and color scheme (light or dark mode)
Accessibility settings (e.g. Reduce Motion, Bold Text)
Country of origin — derived from your IP address at the time of the event; the IP address itself is never stored
Session duration and number of sessions

We never collect the content of your tasks, intentions, decisions, or notes. None of the above data can be traced back to you personally.

Analytics are processed by TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service based in Germany. TelemetryDeck hashes all device identifiers before storing them — your device ID is never stored in plain text. All data is stored on EU servers and is never shared with third parties.

To disable analytics at any time: open irlek → Settings → toggle off "Help improve irlek".

What is never collected

Your name, Apple ID, or any account information
The text of your tasks, intentions, decisions, or notes
Your precise location
Your IP address (used only to determine country, then discarded)
Any data that could identify you personally

Subscriptions

irlek Pro is an optional subscription processed entirely through the Apple App Store. irlek never sees or handles your payment information. All billing is managed by Apple.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data at any time
Withdraw your consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@irlek.com. We will respond within 5 business days.

Deleting your app data

To remove all data stored by irlek, delete the app from your iPhone. All local data is removed with it. Anonymous analytics data stored by TelemetryDeck cannot be retrieved or deleted individually, as it contains no identifiers that could be linked to you.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. We'll keep it current and honest.
